When I first started teaching in Canastota in September of 2000, I worked in a fifth grade classroom. Through the years, I have taught fourth grade and fifth grade. Currently, I am teaching AIS Reading. Working with students in small groups to help them improve their reading is one of my favorite things to do.
Before working in Canastota, I taught in Virginia for four years teaching fifth grade. I obtained my Masters in Reading from SUNY Cortland. I also have National Board Certification.
When I am not in school, I love to spend time with my family. My two sons, my husband, and I enjoy boating and jet skiing on the St. Lawrence River. My dog loves to curl up next to me when I read. (Of course, reading is one of my favorite past times.)
When we meet, I hope that I encourage you to read. With so many ways to spend your time, you have to make reading a priority. Reading can change your life!
