About Mrs. Timmins

Hi! I am Mrs. Timmins. I have been working for the Canastota School District for 12 years. This is the 9th year that I have been teaching 4th grade at Roberts Street. I have lived in Canastota for most of my life, having attended Canastota Schools until I graduated (in the distant past) and completed my Bachelors of Arts Degree with SUNY Fredonia. I later (after the birth of my children) completed my Master of Science Degree from LeMoyne College in 2008. I am both proud and excited to return to my home to teach in the community in which I was born.
My teaching philosophy is a simple one. I believe that every classroom is a place where learning should be fun, engaging and  I embrace the differences between each and every student who walks through my door. I love educating others using humor and movement, and hope to encourage the love for exploring and learning every day. I believe that my classroom is a family. We will have classroom meetings and each and every child will be encouraged to share with their peers and offer their unique perspectives on the world and the curriculum we will be learning.
I am happily married to my husband Scott (21 years) and have two children of my own. They also attend(ed) Canastota Schools. My daughter Rachael is 19 and is beginning her second year at LeMoyne College as a nursing student. She hopes to become a Pediatric RN Practitioner. My younger daughter Abbey is a Sophomore at Canastota and will graduate in 2020. She keeps us very busy with Competitive Dance and Softball Games. Please feel free to contact me whenever at any time with concerns or questions about our daily lessons or questions you have about the "going-ons" in the classroom. It is much easier for me to get back quickly via email as I check in several times during the day. Phone calls can be hit or miss, so I will do my very best to return your calls in a timely manner.
I LOOK FORWARD TO A FANTASTIC YEAR WITH YOUR CHILD! WE AS LEARNING PARTNERS CAN MAKE FOURTH GRADE THE BEST THAT IT CAN POSSIBLY BE!
